Ridgway Machines to attend Big Science Business Forum
Ridgway Machines Managing Director Tony Hart will be attending the Big Science Business Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark 26th – 28th February 2018.
Tony Hart Managing Director of Ridgway Machines stated - “We are looking forward to attending the Big Science Business Forum and taking home a greater understanding of Big Science as a business area. As an SME who offers high quality specialist design and manufacturing we hope to share our expertise and how we might apply it to other big science projects in the future.”

The Big Science Business Forum 2018 is the first one-stop-shop for European companies and other stakeholders to learn about Europe’s Big Science organisations’ future investments and procurements worth billions of euros.

Ridgway Machines will be attending to highlight their expertise in the design and manufacturing of taping machinery and in particular their work for the ITER Tokamak Project and CERN Large Hadron Collider Project.

Ridgway applied extensive conductor taping knowledge by supplying tape wrapping head systems for the demanding applications of the Central Solenoid, Poloidal Field and Toroidal Field coil projects for the ITER Tokomak.

Ridgway worked in close collaboration with the Engineering Team at CERN to ensure the bespoke machine design accommodated the special taping requirements and product handling needs of large superconducting bus bars for magnet connections for the Large Hadron Collider.

Ridgway most recently supplied a High Speed, energy efficient Horizontal Compact Taping machine to enhance and integrate seamlessly into the CERN production line for special tapered cables, commonly referred to as Rutherford Cables, for accelerator magnets for the Large Hadron Collider.

During these prestigious projects Ridgway Machines worked with world leading organisations from across the globe such as General Atomics, Elytt Energy, Sea-Alp Engineering and CERN. The 3 day event will serve as a great platform to meet colleagues from all these organisations and others, who will be attending and exhibiting at the event.

Tony is available for any 1-1 meeting invitations that can be arranged through the BSBF2018 website - www.bsbf2018.org/1-1-meetings/

If you cannot make the exhibition but would like to discuss any requirements or future needs please contact Ridgway Machines.

The repair and maintenance industry is perfectly positioned to help navigate the energy crisis. Meanwhile, there may be some benefits to take from the mini-budget, too, although we are yet to see what the full plan is.
