The School of Physics, Engineering and Technology at the University of York has an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. We seek to appoint a KTP Associate to join the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with The Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (the AEMT).
The KTP Associate will lead a project to convert training into online course materials, complimented by 3D models and animation for training and assessment. You will be expected to improve modules through the AEMT’s Learning Management System (LMS) to produce content that is challenging and pedagogically innovative. The successful applicant will be employed by the University of York and be based at the AEMT’s head-office in York. You will work closely with key personnel at the AEMT as well as receiving support and guidance from academics from the Department of Electronic Engineering. The KTP Associate will work full-time for a fixed term of 16 months.
Salary: £27,929 - £34,308 depending on experience, fixed for the project duration. Plus £2,000 per annum personal development budget.
Role
- Develop thorough understanding of offered modules at AEMT and review content for delivery.
- Working with AEMT’s team to promote, plan and deliver online courses.
- Supporting AEMT’s team with marketing objectives.
- Develop 3D models and animations to be used in the AEMT’s LMS.
- Develop graphics, videos and images to be used in the AEMT’s LMS - considering UX, SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Material), and on trend.
- Customer support and administration of LMS.
- Organise and deliver training sessions for new and existing users of the system
- Gather feedback and compile data on course attendance, participation, outcomes, useability.
- Report on feedback with suggested action to improve AEMT’s LMS.
- Creating knowledge articles on how to learn through LMS.
- To manage the KTP budget provided and accurately document usage of the grant.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
- Knowledge andexperience of 3D modelling and animation.
- Experience with e-learning authoring software.
- Experience of working with Learning Management Systems.
- Experience of video editing.
- Knowledge and experience of working with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to assimilate complex information.
- Previous experience of copy-editing and proofreading, or demonstrable skills in these areas.
